50 years of Apollo 11

July 20, 2019 marks the 50 years of Apollo 11, the first ever space mission to the Moon.

What better words can be there to celebrate this enchanting journey.

On the sea of heaven the waves of cloud ⛅️ arise,
And the moon’s ship is seen sailing ⛵️
To hide in a forest of stars.

This poem is from Manyoshu – ‘Collection of 1000 Japanese Poems’ . It is mentioned in the book “Hope is a Decision: Selected Essays” by Dr. Daisaku Ikeda

In The Wonderleaf Reading Club Meet Up, we read this poem together. Children had a lot to share about this magical poem.

It was an energetic meetup with a quiz on Space Trivia as well.  It was wonderful to know the depth and width of their knowledge on the subject.

I am sure the sky, Moon, Sun and the vastness of the space has always fascinated us since generations and will continue to do so in the times to come..
